Louis Vuitton Visionary Journeys

Bangkok, Thailand / 2024
with OMA New York

"Visionary Journeys" is the first of OMA’s designs for Louis Vuitton’s exhibitions, debuting at Gaysorn Amarin in Bangkok. It blends exhibition, café, store, and restaurant under “LV The Place.”

Five thematic rooms—“Trunkscape,” “Origins,” “Iconic Bags,” “Collaboration,” and “Souvenirs”—recontextualize historic and contemporary pieces in dreamlike settings. Each room uses a specific display typology informed by its contents, featuring structural innovations and archival elements.

“Trunkscape” showcases 96 Courrier Lozine 90 trunks assembled into an arch, emphasizing Louis Vuitton’s craftsmanship. “Origins” presents the Maison’s founders through a hybrid display of artifacts. “Iconic Bags” features 21 iconic bags in acrylic bubbles, highlighting their shape and history. “Collaboration” displays creative evolutions of the Speedy and Keepall bags through 184 chrome-dipped bags and animated screens. “Souvenirs Room” uses a vending machine concept with brand ephemera, inspired by Bangkok’s vibrant night markets.
